Project Scope: The HPU Welcome Center lighted fountain comprises a single-level oval-shaped basin, measuring approximately 10' wide and 48' long. The basin features a linear row of nine Geyser Jets positioned along the center line. These jets create highly aerated conical mounds of water, reaching a spray height of 4' under normal conditions, with a maximum height of 6'. To mitigate unfavorable wind conditions, a wind anemometer is installed to adjust the spray heights accordingly. Each jet is equipped with an LED light fixture containing RGBW diodes, providing enchanting illumination during nighttime and evening hours.
Equipment Used: The pump equipment is housed in a C-series underground equipment fountain vault, which includes a landscape access hatch for easy maintenance. The vault measures approximately 6' x 8' x 8' in depth. It houses a 7.5-HP display pump with an integral suction strainer, a 1-HP filter pump, TA60 sand filter, valve assemblies, sump pump, fill manifold, ladder assembly with a ladder up extension pole, vent fan, and a UL electrical panel in NEMA enclosure. The electrical panel features motor starters, breakers, LED light controls, a digital time clock, and a main disconnect.
Collaborative Team: The High Point University entryway fountains stand as a testament to the collaboration between Fountain People, LKC Engineering, DH Griffin, and Pfists Inc. This visually captivating display not only welcomes visitors but also showcases the school's pride and spirit through its mesmerizing fountain lighting and geyser fountain nozzles, adding a touch of elegance to the campus environment.
